This coming Sunday is the first day of Autumn -- a beautiful time of year with cool weather ahead and a precursor of all the fun holidays to come; Halloween, Thanksgiving, Hanukah, Kwanzaa, Christmas and New Year's day.
Around here the landscapers are already putting in the fall colors for the driveways and flower beds around the house and grounds -- ready for the onslaught of guests that thunder through here every holiday season.
And the trees are about to present their brilliant colors of red, gold, pink and purple -- especially true in New England and Colorado of course, where fall foliage is a huge tourist attraction, important to their annual economies..
But did you know that rich people import non-indigenous trees to every city and upscale community in America, just for the pleasure of seeing the colors change?
So if you're not lucky enough to live in the northern climates that present this brilliant display, all you have to do is drive through any ritzy neighborhood in your city to see the fall colors come alive.
And while welcome, autumn is kind of a sad time of year too, isn't it? All the fun and relaxation of summertime has passed, with winter and deep winter ahead.
There's music written about this of course, to ease us into the mood and season.
And I hope you have a moment to listen to Andre Bocelli and his fiancé sing us into this sweet time of year. Here's the YouTube link, and hope you enjoy.
Thanks for dropping by, and happy Autumn!
